Want to sell your house as a for-sale-by-owner (FSBO) rather than going through a real estate agent?

That’s great!

When you sell by yourself, you avoid some agent fees and can do things at your own pace and list your home for a price that you think is fair.

When you sell by yourself, you avoid some agent fees and can do things at your own pace and list your home for a price that you think is fair.

It is important to keep in mind that it’ll likely take longer to sell the home, though. Homes sold by real estate agents typically sell faster and for a little bit more money simply because of the agent’s marketing experience.

But that shouldn’t keep you from FSBO if that’s the route you want to take!

Here are some tips…

  • Price Competitively — If you want to sell the house in a reasonable amount of time, then the price needs to be right. Do a bit of market research to determine the true value of your home and price it accordingly.
  • Get Professional Photos — The photos of a home listing that people see online have a huge impact on how much attention a property garners. So it’s worth paying a little extra money to get professional photos.
  • List on The MLS — Even if a real estate agent isn’t being hired to sell the home, the MLS is an important asset. Listing on the MLS will help the house sell faster and for more money.

Hope that helps!
