Is traffic becoming a problem where you live?

One of the top complaints that people have about cities is the traffic — just a 10-mile drive can quickly become a 1-hour commute… which adds 2 hours to your workday! It’s a bummer. Or maybe traffic isn’t bad where you live, but your drive is still long because of how far away your place of work is…

Whatever the case, the good news is that you don’t have to keep suffering through ridiculous work commutes. Here are some ideas to make your drive-time more efficient.

  • Ride Your Bike — If your long commute is due to bad traffic, riding your bike can sometimes be faster. Plus, this will also help you get your morning exercise. Just remember to bring a change of clothes to work!
  • Take Public Transportation — If you live in a part of Fairfield County that allows for easy public transportation, then you might give it a try and see if it’s any faster.
  • Change Jobs — Changing jobs might seem like too much of a shift to deal with a long commute, but if it’ll save you 2-3 hours per day in driving time? Well, maybe it’s worth it.
  • Move — The other option is to move. You could move to a new city or simply move to a part of the city where your commute won’t be as long.
